About Event

Join us for the inaugural Fort Lauderdale Physical AI & Robotics Meetup, bringing together people interested in robotics, physical AI, 3D printing, intelligent hardware, automation, and digital fabrication.

People across South Florida are building and experimenting with these technologies, but often in isolation. This meetup is an opportunity to get everyone into the same room, exchange ideas, see what others are working on, and build a local community around making real things.

You do not need to run a robotics company or have a finished project. Engineers, makers, hobbyists, students, researchers, operators, investors, tinkerers, and anyone curious about physical AI are welcome.

Featured conversations

Rather than a series of formal presentations, the evening will feature live, interview-style discussions with people working directly in robotics.

Alexander Petersen, CEO of MOBY Robotics

MOBY Robotics is building autonomous marine robots in Miami. We’ll talk with Alex about developing robots for demanding underwater environments, moving from prototypes to working systems, and what his team is learning from building a robotics company in South Florida.

Scott Walter, “Humanoid Scott,” RoboStrategy

Scott brings more than 40 years of experience in robotics, robot simulation, and offline programming. We’ll discuss the evolution of industrial and humanoid robotics, the challenges that still need to be solved, and how he evaluates the technologies and companies shaping the industry.

Both conversations will include time for questions from the audience.

What to expect

  • Live, interview-style conversations with our featured guests

  • Audience questions and open discussion

  • Conversations about robotics, physical AI, 3D printing, automation, and hardware

  • Time to meet other people building, investing, researching, and experimenting in the field

  • Coffee, pastries, and other refreshments available for purchase from the venue

Have a project, prototype, experiment, or half-formed idea? Bring it. You do not need a polished presentation. We’ll make room for attendees who want to show the group what they are working on.

The goal is to create an ongoing South Florida community where people interested in robotics and physical AI can learn from one another, collaborate, and stop building alone.
