About Event

The Nature Conservancy is convening a small, high-level dialogue co-sponsored with Mexico's Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (Hacienda) focused on moving from sustainable finance frameworks to investment and implementation.

The dialogue is designed for finance ministries. At its core, it will examine how governments can use sustainable finance architectures, including green and sustainable taxonomies, to improve the effectiveness of public expenditure, mobilize investment, strengthen resilience, and support long-term economic growth.

Through the Sustainable Taxonomy of Mexico, the country's sustainable finance strategy, and emerging implementation mechanisms, Mexico is building an architecture that can help align public expenditure, private investment, national development objectives, climate commitments, and resilience goals.

Within this broader framework, agricultural incentives represent a particularly important implementation opportunity. As one of the largest categories of public expenditure affecting land use, food systems and rural economies, agricultural support policies have significant implications for productivity, fiscal sustainability, resilience, and natural capital.
