1) What is HOLA* Academy?
HOLA* Academy is an immersive learning space for people navigating systemic change. We move away from traditional lecture formats and into the “circle,” where we think, speak, and reflect together. It is a place to bridge the gap between global shifts — in climate, technology, and economy — and practical, place-based action.
Through dialogue, nature, systems thinking, and shared experience, HOLA* creates space for meaningful learning, reflection, and connection.
2) Meet the Facilitator — Jay Tompt
Jay Tompt is an educator, economist, and systems-change practitioner with 25+ years of experience in regenerative economics, holistic education, and community-led innovation through Schumacher College and global learning initiatives.
His work explores how economies, enterprises, and communities can become more relational, resilient, and life-affirming.
3) The Theme of the Workshop
Changing and Thriving in these Times
Toward enterprise and economy that affirms life
What do we really need to thrive in our communities?
How can enterprises reorient to become part of the solution?
What is the economic system for, anyway?
How can we start shifting ‘the system’?
In this one-day immersive workshop, we’ll explore these questions together through a holistic, transdisciplinary, and deeply human learning experience.
Drawing from economics, psychology, philosophy, systems thinking, and lived experience, we’ll reflect on what more regenerative and life-affirming futures could look like — both personally and collectively.
Together, we will explore themes such as:
• Relational Finance — Moving from extraction to trust and reciprocity.
• Community Capital — Mobilizing local resources to support ethical enterprise.
• Systems Thinking — Weaving land, people, and economy into one resilient system.

We gather at Cidrerie Kliment in Dobřichovice, surrounded by the forests and landscape of the Czech countryside — using nature itself as part of the learning experience.
