Fainite Round Table: Physics AI for Engineering & Manufacturing
Software ate the world. Hardware is still waiting.
Physical products are engineered today much as they were twenty years ago: simulate, prototype, test, repeat. Every cycle takes weeks, and every iteration is a bet against the calendar. Physics AI is about to collapse that loop. Models that predict how a product will behave in seconds, not hours, mean hardware companies can iterate at the speed of software.
The implications reach well beyond the engineering department. Which industries move first? What happens to the incumbents whose advantage was decades of testing know-how? Where does the value accrue: to the model builders, the toolmakers, or the manufacturers who adopt fastest? And what does a hardware startup look like when its first prototype is already right?
Fainite AG is a Zurich-based startup lowering the barriers to hardware engineering by removing constraints such as long simulation times, iterative design processes and extensive manufacturing testing. Its first milestone is to bring simulation cost and time close to zero through a generalizable Physics AI simulation engine as a scalable software product, not a service-heavy model.
