August Gazebo Community Meeting: Gym-Gazebo-Sim, a basic toolkit for using Gymnasium API in Gazebo
Join us for our August Gazebo Community Meeting!
Our guest speaker will be Taiga Joshua Momose and Miti Isbasescu from the Boye Ahlborn Engineering Physics Project Lab at the University of British Columbia. They will be presenting their work on Gym-Gazebo-Sim, a simple wrapper and Gazebo plugin that extends the Gymnasium API for Gazebo Harmonic and ROS 2 Jazzy for developers and researchers who wish to use Gazebo Sim for reinforcement learning.
Gym-Gazebo-Sim is an educational software toolkit developed to help beginner Gazebo users use the Gymnasium API by the Farama Foundation for reinforcement learning. The toolkit was developed for an introductory course for Gazebo Sim, ROS 2, and RL. It simplifies development for students by providing a base class to pause, resume, and step the simulation, a reset plugin that teleports non-static entitie back to their spawn points, and two pre-built training environments.
