Mwa Éwitaj Kwéyol and Black History Month - Celebration 2026
We Are What We Remember: Memory, Metaphor and the Saint Lucian Identity
In celebration of Creole Heritage Month and Black History Month, the Saint Lucia High Commission presents a special evening of cultural reflection and engagement with Dr. Adrian Augier, Caribbean Laureate of Arts and Letters, acclaimed poet, artist and producer.
Under the theme “We Are What We Remember: Memory, Metaphor and the Saint Lucian Identity,” the evening will explore our Creole heritage, the memories and experiences that shape our identity, and the connections that bind us to Saint Lucia, both at home and across the diaspora.
Through readings, conversations and artistic presentations, we invite you to reflect on the stories, traditions and shared experiences that define who we are and what we carry forward.
The evening will also feature a special cameo appearance by renowned stage and screen actor Mr. Joseph Marcell, performing “Remember Ish-Mwen, Remember.”
