Sovereignty at Stake: Online Disinformation and Canadian Democracy
Join the Catalyst for a lively discussion providing a critical, high-stakes briefing from the front lines of the information war. This evening event is designed to move beyond alarmism toward action. Together, we will bridge the gap between understanding the threat and deploying a robust national defence.
The evening will begin with an address by the Honourable Jason Kenney, former Premier of Alberta, who will draw on his 25 years in public service, including senior cabinet roles in National Defence, Citizenship and Immigration, and Employment and Social Development, to outline the national security implications of information warfare.
Following the keynote, a panel discussion featuring leading experts Marcus Kolga, Dr. Jennie Phillips, and Dr. Brian McQuinn will explore the real-world risks to Canada’s democratic institutions. This conversation will focus on identifying current threats and, outlining concrete steps to strengthen Canada’s response and resilience.
