Baixa was rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake as a rational, controlled city — straight lines, repeating façades, hidden systems designed to prevent chaos. Most people walk through it without ever noticing what was erased, replaced, or carefully engineered.
On this quest, we’ll uncover Baixa’s hidden logic through clues, old photographs, photo challenges — and a short audioguide at each stop, telling the story of what once stood here and why it disappeared.
