Breaking the Habit - Rethinking how we build understandable software

​We're excited to kick off a new chapter for our DDD community.

​This is the first event in a new series exploring the broader ecosystem around Domain-Driven Design (DDD). DDD will always be at the heart of our community but we're opening the door to related ideas that challenge, enrich and expand the way we think about software systems.

​And we couldn't think of a better topic to start with.

​Not every community event has to introduce a new framework, programming language or design pattern. Sometimes the most valuable takeaway is simply a different way of thinking.

​In this first session, we'll explore questions like:

• ​What makes software stay understandable as it grows?

• ​Why do some systems become increasingly difficult to reason about?

• ​What can Functional Programming teach us even if we never write functional code?

• ​And where do these ideas connect with Domain-Driven Design?

​This isn't a framework talk and not even a language talk. It's an evening about how we think about software.
