March for an AI Treaty
Saturday 14 November. Meet at 12:45 pm at Queen’s Park, by the King Edward VII statue; the rally starts at 1 pm. At 1:45 pm we march down University Avenue to the U.S. Consulate General, then to Nathan Phillips Square.
We call for an international treaty that stops the race to build dangerous AI through "a prohibition on the development of superintelligence, not lifted before there is broad scientific consensus that it will be done safely and controllably, and strong public buy-in." Four days after the march, at the APEC summit, we ask the Prime Minister to propose this treaty to the presidents of the United States and China.
Peaceful, non-partisan and open to all. Every group brings its own signs and its own demand.

Samedi 14 novembre. Rendez-vous à 12 h 45 à Queen’s Park, près de la statue d’Édouard VII ; le rassemblement commence à 13 h. À 13 h 45, nous descendons l’avenue University jusqu’au consulat général des États-Unis, puis jusqu’au square Nathan Phillips.
Nous réclamons un traité international qui arrête la course à l'IA dangereuse par « l’interdiction du développement de la superintelligence, qui ne sera levée qu’après un large consensus scientifique sur sa mise en œuvre sûre et contrôlée, et une forte adhésion du public ». Quatre jours après la marche, au sommet de l’APEC, nous demandons au premier ministre de proposer ce traité aux présidents des États-Unis et de la Chine.
