Meet The Gelli Plate
In this class you will learn all about the gelli plate: how to apply paint to the plate, how to pull a great print, what materials can be used on the plate and how to care for and store your plate. We will run through a series of exercises designed to show you how you can use your plate to create beautiful art. Plus, I will be there live to answer any troubleshooting questions.
A recording will be sent out to all participants within 48 hours of the class.
materials needed:
a gelli plate (I use a 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 plate.) Please DO NOT use a Speedball Gel Plate.
an assortment of acrylic paint. I like Amsterdam in an assortment of transparent and opaque colors. Bring colors that make you happy! (No "open" paint due to long drying time.)
a SOFT rubber brayer.
Printer paper is the best paper to use when learning.
A magazine or art journal to offload extra paint.
baby wipes or a rag / paper towel and canola oil to clean your plate.
a q-tip
washi tape or masking tape or blue tape
optional: gloves, if you don't want to get your hands dirty.
