Bootcamp | Claude Code for Beginners
A full day with Claude Code. Gentle, hands-on. Your first real steps past the chat window.
Claude Code is Claude working directly in your files and folders, not just answering questions in a browser tab. It plans before it builds. It reads your files, writes code, runs it, and shows you the result. You don't need a programming background to direct it, you need clear language and a real problem to point it at.
In this bootcamp you'll install Claude Code, run your first plan-build-ship loop, and build a small working app before lunch. This is a day of practice over PowerPoints. Every session focuses on one skill with an intro followed by build-along time on your own laptop, at your own pace.
What you'll learn
Install Claude Code, sign in, and run your first agent loop
Direct the agent in plain English, plan first, then build, then review
Let the agent read and edit your real files safely, with you in control
Build and run your first mini-app before lunch
Start your own CLAUDE.md, a short operating manual for how you want the agent to work
Wire up one simple automation for a task you'll actually reach for again
Spot and fix the agent when it goes off track
Leave with a working prototype and a small library of prompts that worked
Who it's for
People comfortable with computers who want to move beyond the chat window. Technical-curious PMs, designers, and analysts ready to build, not just prompt. First-time builders who want a gentle, guided on-ramp to Claude Code. Anyone who has used Claude in the browser and wants the real, agentic version.
No programming background required. A little comfort with files and folders is enough.
What to bring
A laptop with admin rights, so you can install a CLI tool. An Anthropic account, Pro, Team, or Max, signed in before you arrive, if you don't have one we'll help you get set up on arrival. One small idea or task you'd like to get working during the day. Breakfast, lunch, cake, all-day coffee, water and fruit, and a drink to wrap the day are on us.
Who's behind it
Hosted by Jacob Langvad Nilsson and Camilla Roesgaard Hansen, co-founders of Applied Futures.
Jacob is a Claude Community Ambassador for Anthropic and runs the Copenhagen Claude Coders community. Camilla designs the Applied Futures programmes and leads facilitation of AI training. Both work as forward-deployed product managers for specialist teams organizing around AI, and both build with Claude Code every day.
