Join Wikimedians of Singapore for an introduction to Wikimedia Commons, followed by a short photography walk and a casual uploading session.
This event is suitable for photographers of all experience levels. A phone camera is sufficient.

Copyright and free licensing
Photographing buildings, public places and events
Writing useful descriptions
Adding categories and structured information
Uploading through the Commons Upload Wizard
Photography walk: 3:00–4:30 pm
We will explore the area around HackerspaceSG and photograph subjects that may be useful for Wikimedia projects.
Possible subjects include:
Streets and public spaces
Architecture
Heritage buildings
Public art
Transport and infrastructure
Details that are missing from existing Wikipedia articles
Participants may also remain at HackerspaceSG and work on their own photographs.

Return to HackerspaceSG for a free-and-easy uploading and editing session.

Improve descriptions and categories
Identify articles that need images
Ask questions about copyright or licensing
Work on existing Commons contributions
Experienced Wikimedia Commons contributors are also welcome to join from 4:30 pm.

A laptop and charger
A cable or card reader for transferring photographs
A Wikimedia account
Water and suitable clothing for a short outdoor walk
The photography walk may be adjusted or cancelled in the event of unsuitable weather.
