Performance Lecture: Trans-Pakistan Zindabad (Long Live Trans-Pakistan) by Umber Majeed

​Artist Umber Majeed presents a lecture performance examining the intersections of military-state surveillance, global capital, and speculative urban development through the story of Trans-Pakistan, a former tourism company owned by the artist's maternal uncle. Using family archives, performance, and visual media, Majeed investigates Pakistan's corporate mega-developments, where replicas of global monuments stand as symbols of privatization, nationalism, and surveillance, while imagining alternative forms of occupation and resistance within increasingly monitored urban landscapes.
