​A Lantern Between Us

​Chapter0 Mid-Autumn Table

​This Mid-Autumn Festival, we’re setting a small table by the LIC waterfront.

​There will be lanterns, mooncakes, tea, paper, paint — and a few people who probably haven’t met before.

​A Lantern Between Us is a two-hour slow social and art-making experience inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival. Together, we’ll make our own lanterns while sharing mooncakes, sipping tea, and moving through a few light conversation prompts along the way.

​This isn’t a traditional art class, and there’s no pressure to network or share anything too personal.

​You can spend more time making, more time talking, or simply enjoy being around the table.

​We’ll begin with a few prompts about recent life, the season ahead, and the little things we’ve been quietly looking forward to. From there, you’ll choose colors, textures, symbols, and materials to create a lantern that feels like your own.

​Some thoughts might become words.
Some might become shapes or colors.
And some can stay completely private.

​The making is just an excuse to sit together.

​By the end of the afternoon, each guest will leave with a handmade lantern — and hopefully a few conversations they didn’t expect to have.
