Alleycropping and Silvopasture

​The Golden Hoof is looking for volunteers!

​Join us here at the farm for some tree-planting and learn how alleycropping and silvopasture techniques can help build healthy soil, boost livestock health and comfort, enhance resiliency, create year round abundant forage chains and wildlife habitat, reduce soil erosion and support pollinators. You will have the opportunity to get your hands in the soil, working in teams to plant lots of trees and shrubs from black currants to seabuckthorn berries.

​A free event including an informative talk with Karel and Alice Starek of The Golden Hoof and Vanessa Harmony of Colorado Edible Forest followed by a planting demonstration by Vanessa and a group planting session. Options for morning (9a-12p) or afternoon (2p-5p). Rain date the following day- same times.
