About the Book
In Life of M, Rachel Cusk turns her attention to an acclaimed actor whose public image, private self, and relationship with the writer gradually form a hall of mirrors. The result is a provocative novel about who gets to tell a life, what it means to perform a self, and whether another person can ever truly be known.
