FoodiesLX Experience: From Table to Territory — Alcochete & Salinas do Samouco

This experience begins at the table.

We gather at a local traditional Portuguese restaurant in Alcochete - a hidden gem just 30 minutes from Lisbon, on the south bank of the Tagus River - where conversation flows and the first flavours introduce us to the territory. Lunch is not just a meal — it is the opening chapter of the journey. A moment to connect, share and prepare our senses for what comes next.

From the table, we move into the landscape.

We wander along Alcochete's waterfront before heading to the stunning Samouco Salt Banks, where history, human work and nature meet in quiet beauty. Along the way, we explore stories of local memory and legends, discover the ecosystem that shapes this place, and engage all our senses — observing, listening, touching and tasting wild halophyte plants that inspire contemporary cuisine.

This is not a tour.
It is a shared journey of taste, stories and connection.

A Foodies-style gathering: no audience, no performance — just people, a place, and an experience unfolding from table to territory.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Pedro Rosa

Our guide for this journey is Pedro Rosa, founder and storyteller behind VIVA VOICE — a project dedicated to creating living experiences where people, places and stories meet.

With a background in tourism, communication, cultural projects and human development, Pedro has worked with diverse communities — always guided by listening, connection and meaningful encounters. Through walking experiences and sensory storytelling, he invites us to slow down and rediscover how food, landscape and human stories are deeply connected.

For Pedro, every experience begins with a simple idea:
communication is not just spoken… it is lived.

Bruno Raposo

Bruno Raposo is a biologist and the founder of Biotouring, a project born from the desire to bring science closer to experience — transforming knowledge into moments lived through the senses.

His path moves between worlds: the art of welcoming shaped by years in hospitality, the rhythm of the sea as a skipper, and the attentive gaze of a naturalist. Through birdwatching, nature photography and field exploration, Bruno invites us to slow down and rediscover the landscape with renewed curiosity.

With him, nature is not explained from a distance — it is observed, listened to and felt. Each walk becomes an invitation to notice what often goes unseen: the movement of birds across the sky, the quiet intelligence of ecosystems, the subtle stories written into the territory.

Through Biotouring, leisure and learning meet naturally, awakening both body and mind to the small, unexpected gifts the landscape reveals along the way.

For Bruno, every encounter with nature carries a simple truth:
nature is not only something to understand — it is something to experience, to interpret, and to live.
