About Event

This is a hands-on session designed to make understanding venture numbers simple and fun. Led by Emily Roller, Assistant Director of Student Programming at Tsai CITY, the workshop is designed for students working on nonprofits, creative projects, lifestyle businesses, and early-stage ventures.

You will build a basic income statement and cash flow model in real time using a guided Google Sheets template. As you work, you will see how income and expenses interact and how small assumptions shape sustainability and profit.

By the end of the session, you will walk away with a clear financial snapshot of your venture and a model you can continue to refine. The focus stays on the essentials: revenue, costs, and surplus or profit, so you leave knowing your numbers and how to use them to guide your next steps.
