About Event

👋🏾 Join us for an evening of connection and community as we bring together Pasifika tech professionals, founders, investors, and innovators working across the industry. 🌎💻

This pau hana 🍹 is designed to foster meaningful relationships, uplift each other’s journeys, and celebrate the growing influence of Oceanic Peoples in tech. 🌊

If you identify as Pasifika (ancestry from Polynesia, Melanesia, or Micronesia), we'd love to have you join us. Whether you're in engineering, product, venture, or a tech-adjacent field, come network with fellow Pasifika leaders and explore how we can uplift each other in tech. 🚀

🤝🏾 Connect & Celebrate 🥳

We gather in the spirit of 👑 King Kalākaua, who envisioned Hawaiʻi as a beacon of innovation and unity across the Pacific. In 1886, he established the ⭐ Royal Order of the Star of Oceania to honor those advancing Hawaiʻi’s standing among Pacific nations. His dream of an Oceanic confederation was rooted in shared identity, self-determination, and bold imagination.

We carry that legacy forward through this event as a celebration of Pasifika excellence. Nā Hōkū o Osiania (The Stars of Oceania) ✨, is visually represented by the 31 stars on our event graphic — each one symbolizing an indigenous group/nation of Oceania. Together, these stars guide our collective path as we build futures rooted in culture, sovereignty, and innovation.

✨ Vibe

Hosted at Pōʻai by Pono Potions in Honolulu's historic Chinatown, it’s the perfect backdrop for sharing stories, resources, and opportunities. Owned and operated by Native Hawaiian founder, Peter Hessler, the venue sits at the heart of a district that has long been a hub of cultural exchange, economic grit, and entrepreneurial vision.

Vibe out to a live DJ set by 🎧🪩💃🏾 Vai Alefosio aka DJ A.i.T. (Ancestor in Training) is a first generation fafa of the Samoan diaspora. She believes music and creative expression is medicine that our ancestors cultivated to navigate this whrrld. A.i.T. also delves into apparel that speak to the expansiveness of being Pasifika + Queer.

🫶🏽 Intentionality

This event is intentionally designed to celebrate and connect Pasifika professionals, founders, investors, and innovators working across the tech landscape. We're bringing together this community because Pasifika peoples have been historically underrepresented in technology, and we believe in the power of intentional gathering to foster meaningful relationships and uplift each other's journeys.

Cocktails 🍸, Hawaiian food 🍽️, & transportation support 🚗 provided!

This event is a part of Honolulu Tech Week - a week of events that unifies Hawaiʻi’s tech ecosystem and those connected to it globally.
