The Madrid Review LIVE: Vinos and Verse with Matthew Stewart
Wine wins! Glory in verse! Poetry, Spanish wine, stories, and conversation in one of Madrid’s most atmospheric cultural spaces.
Join poet and wine expert Matthew Stewart for a lively evening at María Pandora — the candlelit cultural bar tucked beside Las Vistillas in the heart of La Latina.
Published in The Spectator and widely respected in contemporary poetry circles, Matthew Stewart is a poet, blogger, and wine trade professional splitting his time between Extremadura, Spain, and West Sussex, UK. He operates the Rogue Strands poetry blog and co-runs the Rogue Strands poetry reading series, championing both established and emerging poets.
His collections include Whatever You Do, Just Don’t (HappenStance Press, 2023) and The Knives of Villalejo (Eyewear, 2017), praised for its precision, resonance, and vivid evocation of life in Spain. His work explores landscape, memory, wine culture, personal history, and the experience of living between Spain and the UK.
On the night:
