Two professions, two languages, two cultures, and zero patience to listen to each other.
Lawyers write essays about risk while IT just wants to know whether something is a "go" or "no go". Meanwhile, IT sends a legal question at 11 PM and expects an answer by morning. The result is a classic case of being "lost in translation", with neither side understanding why the other works the way they do.
This panel brings together two lawyers and two IT leaders for an honest conversation without the ceremonial reconciliation. The goal isn't to make them love each other, but to leave with a concrete protocol: when, how, and with what deliverable should legal enter an IT project, so that "no" stops being the default answer and "how" becomes the standard. At the same time, IT needs to learn that a lawyer isn't an instant approval machine or a checkpoint to bypass until the very last minute.
