About Event

With Chandra Easton & Special Musical Guests

Join Chandra Easton for an intimate evening of devotional practice drawing from Buddhist and Hindu Tantric traditions. Chandra is a Buddhist teacher, author, and devotional chantress holding the title Dorje Lopön (Vajra Teacher) of Tara Mandala, and co-founder of the 21 Taras Collective. She is known for weaving chanting, meditation, and storytelling into embodied, accessible pathways into presence — emphasizing direct spiritual experience over conceptual understanding.

The theme of the evening is echoes of emptiness — an exploration of the empty yet luminously appearing nature of sound, thought, and all phenomena, drawn from the heart of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhist philosophy. Far from being abstract or dry, emptiness here is something you feel: in the resonance between voices, in the space after a mantra, in the stillness that holds everything.

What the Evening Includes

Call & Response Kirtan — Chant traditional Sanskrit mantras together in the ancient practice of kirtan (melodic chanting) and japa (mantra repetition). These practices uplift the spirit, open the heart, and create a felt sense of inner peace that builds across the evening.

Guided Meditation — Settle into the space where sound and silence meet. Rhythmic, repetitive chanting naturally guides the mind into deeper states of meditative absorption — accessible to complete beginners and longtime practitioners alike.

Storytelling — Chandra weaves teaching stories throughout the evening, offering a doorway into the living wisdom behind the practices — not as doctrine, but as direct invitation.

Community & Connection — We sit in a circle, meditate, chant.  If the spirit moves you, dancing is welcome. The power of communal practice to dissolve the sense of separation is one of the oldest medicines we have.

No experience needed. This is a participatory evening, not a performance. You're welcome to sing, listen, rest, or move as the practice unfolds. What matters is that you show up.
