Green Fuels for Green Shipping – Designing the ZNZ reward for both suppliers and shipowners
The Green Fuels for Green Shipping (GF4GS) group is pleased to invite you to an invite-only workshop during London Climate Action Week 2026, bringing together real economy actors from across the maritime supply and demand value chain. Following the relatively positive conclusion of MEPC 84 and in the context of efforts to secure the IMO Net Zero Framework, the workshop will focus on reward options for Zero and Near-Zero Emission Fuels (ZNZs).
This workshop aims to gather inputs from shipowners and fuel producers on specific aspects of ZNZ reward concepts currently under discussion at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and provide an opportunity for an exchange of views on the relative benefits and disadvantages of both ZNZ reward and differentiation options. The workshop participants will be able to further develop their understanding of the mechanisms, exchange opinions and offer their insights on the evolving guideline specifications.
The private sector and industry play an important role in informing negotiations on the practicality and effectiveness of options, and this workshop allows an opportunity to test different options and understand how they might work in commercial practice for both the supplier and shipowner.
