Sydney Watch Party: Shaping Australia's AI Future AISANZ Panel
AI Safety ANZ has assembled a panel of experts to help you understand Parliament's Joint Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence.
The Sydney AI Safety Space is streaming this panel event and hosting a watch party! Snacks will be provided. 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
The Joint Select Committee on AI has been tasked with 13 questions that together ask how Australia should deal with a technology carrying this much risk and this much promise.
The Committee is accepting input from the public until Monday 14 September 2026 (just over a week). This is your chance to hear what a range of people and organisations make of it, work out where you land, and think about putting in a submission of your own.
This night will help you:
Understand what the Committee is, what it's asking, and what it means for you
Hear a range of voices on what worries them about AI and what they'd tell the Committee
Start drafting your own submission alongside other attendees, if you want to
Speaking on the night:
Greg Sadler (Good Ancestors)
Emily Grundy (Good Ancestors)
Mark Zirnsak (Uniting Church)
Devon Whittle (Global Shield)
Emily Low (Gradient Institute)
More TBC!
