Sydney Watch Party: Shaping Australia's AI Future AISANZ Panel
Parliament has set up a Joint Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence to answer 13 questions that add up to ‘how should Australia handle a technology with such significant risks and opportunities?’
AI Safety ANZ is proud to be bringing together an online panel of experts to help you learn more. The Sydney AI Safety Space is streaming this panel event and hosting a watch party for this! Pizza and snacks will be provided. 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
The Committee wants to hear from the public by Monday 14 September 2026, so this is a chance to hear from a range of people and organisations about what they think, to form and inform your own views, and to consider making your own submission and have your voice heard.
We'll be helping you to:
Understand what the committee is, what it's asking, and what this means for you
Hear from a range of voices on their concerns about AI, and what they'd want to say to the committee
Optionally get started on your own submission alongside other attendees
Speaking on the night:
Greg Sadler (Good Ancestors)
Emily Grundy (Good Ancestors)
Mark Zirnsak (Uniting Church)
Devon Whittle (Global Shield)
Emily Low (Gradient Institute)
More TBC!
