Satori Book Club: Chapter One
A chill book club for ambitious people who want to read A chill book club for ambitious people who want to read interesting books, have better conversations, and make life a little more interesting.
This is our first official book discussion.
We'll spend the afternoon hanging out in the park, talking about the ideas that stuck with us, debating the ones we disagreed with, and inevitably going down a few rabbit holes along the way.
Nothing formal.
📚 What we're reading
Main Book (Everyone)
Contagious: Why Things Catch On — Jonah Berger
Optional Fiction
Parable of the Sower — Octavia E. Butler
Optional Philosophy
As One Is: To Free the Mind from All Conditioning — Jiddu Krishnamurti
The discussion will mainly revolve around Contagious, but we'll also make time for anyone who wants to share thoughts on the optional books.
No pressure if you didn't finish. Audiobooks count. Half-read books count. Showing up curious counts.
We'll be meeting at Sheeps Meadow. Bring something comfortable to sit on, a snack if you'd like, and whatever you're currently reading if you want to hang around afterward.
A rough idea of the afternoon:
👋 Hang out and catch up
📚 Chat about Contagious and any insights or hot takes
☕ Wander into conversations about the optional books, startups, philosophy, life, or whatever comes up
🌇 Stick around afterward to read, relax, or just enjoy the park
Every six weeks we'll vote on a new book, get together to discuss it, and sprinkle in casual reading hangs and picnics in between.
If you've been looking for a group of people who are curious, ambitious, and enjoy talking about ideas, we'd love to have you.
