Antifascist Spaghetti
For the second year, ReteDonne Paesi Bassi invites you to celebrate April 25th (Italian Liberation Day) with an Anti-Fascist Spaghetti Dinner, a moment of reflection and togetherness to support the values of democracy and freedom based on a tradition born during the Resistance against Nazi-fascism.
The traditional recipe of the “pastasciutta antifascista” from the Cervi family simply consists of pasta, butter and grated parmigiano cheese. On July 25th 1943, when Mussolini was deposed, the Cervi brothers decided to celebrate the end of the fascist dictatorship distributing pasta to the distressed population. Only a few months after this event, the seven Cervi brothers, turned partisan fighters, were killed by fascists on December 28th.
To remember and honour the Resistance before sharing a meal, we will watch together the documentary “Women of the Resistance”.
An opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, reflect, and promote the values of equality, justice, and peace, all within the framework of ANTI-FASCISM.
We look forward to seeing you there for an event that combines culture, history, and civic engagement! ✊
