Workshops by Ten Four: How To Do Travel Productions
Make your travel shoot happen without spending too much money, or losing your gear to customs.
Travel shoots are expensive and complicated, there’s no two ways about it, but this workshop will teach you strategies to reduce cost and complexity, allowing you to focus instead on the creative aspects of the filming. Through a blend of lectures and interactive demos, we’ll help you plan for your next travel gig, helping you build that confidence to take those far-off jobs and build your experience as a filmmaker.
Topics that will be covered:
Booking the right transportation for the job: flights, trains, vehicles

CATSA/TSA security, oversized baggage handling, tracking your equipment
Customs: Work Visas & ATA Carnets

The less glamorous side of travel
Getting work abroad
This workshop is facilitated by Philip LeMoyne, co-founder and cinematographer at Ten Four. We shoot feature films, commercials for major brands, and music videos for international artists.
Phil is also a revered instructor at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he teaches cinematography. He has flown over 380,000 km in his life (that’s the distance to the moon) so he knows a thing or two about travelling with cameras.
