The Electric Jungle: Building a Global Hardware Ecosystem

​Building hardware is only half the challenge. Getting it into the right hands, across borders, and keeping it useful over time is an entirely different problem.

​This session introduces Artificer Asia and explores the barriers to global hardware accessibility, from high costs and fragmented supply chains to limited infrastructure, distribution challenges, and disconnected maker ecosystems.

​We'll explore Artificer's vision for a more sustainable hardware lifecycle, where devices move through multiple editions and deployments, reaching new communities and serving different purposes before eventually retiring into universities, educational institutions, or research environments.

​The goal is to rethink hardware as a shared, evolving resource rather than a one-time product, building an international ecosystem that makes technology more accessible, reusable, and impactful.
