About Event

Are you curious about sex and play parties but don’t know where to begin? And what do you do once you get to one? What should you expect? It’s common to have anxiety about going to a sexy party, so Tristan Taormino created one just for you!! First, we’ll talk about confidence building and how to ask for what you want. We’ll do some icebreaker exercises and games to get people talking to each other. Then….hopefully you’ll play!

This is a consent-focused event open to people of all genders and sexualities. It’s designed for folks who are party-curious, party newbies, or shy folks looking to up their game at parties. Participation is entirely voluntary and you can go at your own pace.

Tristan Taormino is an award-winning writer, sex educator, speaker, and podcaster. She is the author of eight books, including the bestselling classic Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships. Her latest book is A Part of the Heart Can't Be Eaten: A Memoir. Tristan has conducted original research on non-monogamy and teaches workshops and professional trainings about it at colleges and universities, conferences, and community groups around the world. She created The Open List, a list of professionals who are experienced and knowledgeable about open relationships, polyamory, and non-monogamy (openingup.net).

If this is your first fwb play event:

Please purchase a ticket, fill out an application, and complete a 15 minute interview with our host at least 72 hours prior to the event. Please read (and check your spam folder for) any follow up emails as they may contain important scheduling links or additional information. Unapproved guests will be turned away at the door.

ARRIVAL

Doors lock at 9:00P for the comfort and safety of our community. Please arrive early to ensure you will be admitted. Late and unapproved guests will be turned away at the door.

No shoes allowed in the loft. We recommend bringing a pair of grip socks or slippers. If you require an accessibility exemption, please email [email protected].

We provide a coat check and space for you to store your belongings. Feel free to bring a coat, a change of clothes, and/or a toy bag.

If it's your first event, please arrive early. We’ll give you a tour of the space, review the ground rules, answer any questions, and introduce you to other friends.

ACCESSIBILITY

The building is ADA accessible.

There is an elevator. Note for people with wheelchairs, canes, other walking assistance devices: the tile of the lobby floor is uneven so be careful navigating, and the bathroom is not ADA compliant.

This is a low-scent event: no perfume, cologne, or essential oils.

If you have a latex allergy, please let us know ahead of time so we can ensure to remove any latex products in the play space and ask our participants to leave their latex products at home.

PHONE POLICY

We have a strict no phone policy for the privacy and presence of all our guests. Please ensure your phone is off or set to do not disturb. When you arrive, you must check in your phone(s) with one of our hosts. We discourage checking phones during social time, but if you must check your phone before doors lock, you may check it at the front desk and promptly return it to our staff.

Once doors have locked, there are no phones allowed. If you need to check your phone, you will be asked to leave the event.

FOOD & BEVY

We provide tea, non-alcoholic drinks and a variety of snacks.

This event is BYOB. We lean sober-ish as a community, so if you choose to consume, we suggest keeping it to a drink (maybe 2).

If you arrive visibly intoxicated, or become overly intoxicated throughout the event, you may be asked to leave for the safety of yourself and our community.

You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks. If you do not wish to share with the community, please clearly label your items with your name so that friends know it's not for sharing.

There's no food or bevy in the play area except water.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

We do not offer refunds. If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please let us know 48 hours prior to an event, and we will credit you for a future event.

If you are sick, were recently exposed to someone who has covid, or tested positive, and let us know ~4 hours prior to an event start, we will credit you for a future event.

We offer refunds if we cancel an event for any reason. We'll send out a cancellation email. Attendees who wish to receive a refund for their ticket purchase will need to respond within 7 days of the cancelled event. All other tickets will receive a credit for a future event.

Because we keep our events intentionally small and curate our guest list for a healthy balance of genders, sexualities, and interests, repeat no calls/no shows by friends with an active fwb membership may have their membership revoked.
