Facing the Aging of Our Parents: A Community Conversation

Most Fabrik members are in the season of life where the reality of aging parents is becoming undeniably present.
Some of us are stepping into role reversals, becoming caretakers or emotional anchors.
Some are witnessing changes in personality, memory, or mobility.
Some are simply sitting with the imagined reality that one day, they won’t be here.

And many have already faced that loss.

This is one of the most transformative—and often unspoken—experiences of adulthood. It shapes how we move through the world, what we prioritize, and who we’re becoming. And yet… we rarely talk about it.
This 1-hour open space is an invitation to come together, share what’s on your heart, be seen, and start to move through it in community.

You don’t need to be in crisis to be welcome. You can have two living, healthy parents and still be deeply impacted by this season.

All are welcome. All stories matter.

Let’s gather. Let’s feel it. Let’s name what’s real—together.

About the Host:

James Philipp, The Turbulence Coach
James is a Certified Integral Coach®, Grief Educator, and Trauma-Informed Somatics Practitioner who specializes in supporting people through life’s most tender and transformative transitions. Through his practice, The Turbulence Coach, James helps individuals move through grief, identity shifts, and major life changes with greater clarity, presence, and self-trust.

This session marks the beginning of a new area of focus in James’s work: The Aging Parents Project—an offering-in-development dedicated to exploring the quiet grief, role reversals, and reckoning that arise in midlife as our parents age.

While this 1-hour gathering will be a casual, open discussion rather than a structured workshop, it serves as a meaningful starting point. It’s a chance to open space for something many of us are carrying but not often naming. More to come.
