GitHub pages allows every GitHub user to have his/her own web site free of charge. If you have a domain name you can also map it, or any hostname to your site. I have plenty of web sites hosted there. for example szabgab.com, code-maven.com, git.code-maven.com, and kantoniko.com are all hosted on GitHub pages.
During this workshop you will learn how to create your own web site and you will create a very nice one. Much nicer than the ones I have linked to.
Prerequisite: You have to have an account on GitHub and you must be logged in to it.
We'll work in short steps.
I'll show you what to do.
You'll have time to do it.
I'll help if you get stuck.
Then we go on to the next step.
