Agenda
17:30 - 18:00 | Gathering
18:00 - 18:10 | Welcome to C++ Brno
18:10 - 18:40 | Hana Dusíková: C++ starts with cpp
In this talk I will take you on a journey of seeing what happens inside a C++ compiler. I will guide you on where you should start if you want to implement your own C++ frontend from scratch, what problems you will face, and how to solve them using modern C++ language and library features.
18:40 - 19:00 | David Čermák: Implementing reflection based RPC for Wi-Fi connectivity
This talk introduces a practical use of C++26 static reflection to implement RPC between host and slave nodes. The reflection is used to:
* compile-time catalogue public API and structures of complex Wi-Fi configuration
* safe wire serialization of requests/responses
* verbose/semantic logging of Wi-Fi configuration
19:00 - 19:30 | Snacks & Networking
19:30 | Lightning Talks (5-15 minutes)
Speakers
1st Speaker: Hana Dusíková
Hana is co-chair of Evolution Working Group and chair of the Study Group for Reflection in the C++ committee. Her main interest is meta-programming and constant evaluation. She has authored multiple papers extending C++ constexpr capabilities. She is known for being the author of the CTRE (Compile Time Regular Expressions) library and some others. She has given many talks about the library and other topics on various topics (data structures, asynchronous programming, distributed update systems).
When she is not breaking compilers, she likes to commit crimes with JavaScript which she loves, and sometime wishes C++ was more like JS.
She has an Italian greyhound name Charlotte and loves landscape and panoramic photography.
2nd Speaker: David Čermák
David is an embedded software engineer specializing in networking, connectivity, and system-level development on the ESP32 platform.
His work spans from low-level protocol stacks (lwIP, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, MQTT, WebSocket) to secure communication frameworks such as SSH, TLS, and DNSSEC/DANE.
💡 Call for Lightning Talks!
Have a cool idea, project, or tip to share? We welcome anyone interested in giving a Lightning Talk (5-15 minutes). Let us know if you'd like to claim a spot.
