Museum Stroll: Asian Art Museum
Every first Sunday, the Asian Art Museum opens its doors for free. We thought it'd be a nice excuse to wander through it together!
Museum Stroll is our second casual community hang. Come open to meeting new people, wandering the galleries, and exploring the art that inspires us to pause, think, and chat.
The vibe: low-key. Just art, creative friends (new and old), and an afternoon to slow down.
Schedule:
1:00 PM — Meet at the museum entrance
1:00–3:00 PM — Wander the galleries together
3:00 PM — Those with a special exhibit ticket: we'll head into Chiharu Shiota: Two Home Countries together
4:00 PM — Wrap (or linger — the museum is open until 5 PM)
About tickets:
🎟 General admission — free. Thanks to Free First Sunday, museum admission is free. We've claimed a group of 20 free tickets for the Coqtail Hour crew — RSVP here to grab one. First come, first served. Once those fill up, please BYO ticket from the Asian Art Museum website!
🎟 Special pavilion exhibit — optional, BYO ticket ($10) (includes general admission). For those who want to join us inside Chiharu Shiota: Two Home Countries, grab a discounted 3:00 PM timed-entry ticket directly from the Asian Art Museum website.
A note from the museum: "Tickets for Chiharu Shiota: Two Home Countries grant you all-day access within our hours of operation, except on Free First Sundays, when timed tickets are required. The time you select is your entry time for Chiharu Shiota: Two Home Countries on Free First Sundays."
→ So if you want to come into the exhibit with our group, book a slot that will allow entry at 3:00PM.
Bring: Comfortable shoes, a friend (or come solo and meet some!), and an optional sketchbook or notebook!

Age Restriction + Photography Disclaimer
All guests must be 18+ to register, but parents/guardians are welcome to get their own tickets for family. We'll be taking photos and videos at the event; if you'd prefer not to be photographed, just let us know on arrival.

We're Sama and Jacqueline, two East Bay girls who spent five years in NYC and watched each other come alive in a city where creativity was so accessible. We decided when we came home that we weren't leaving that behind.
Coqtail Hour is the community we wished existed when we got back. Pop-up events in the Bay, after five, for creatively-curious and multidisciplinary humans!
