

Adventurous 4 day residential trip with RSBC to National Outdoor Centre for under 16's
Come and sign up for a very special Spring Residential trip with the RSBC. This year, for our under 16's Residential Activity, we will be headed into the mountainous region of Snowdonia in Wales, where the amazing staff at Plas Y Brenin will be giving us 4 days packed full of exciting and adventurous activities!
Who is this for?
If you have vision impaired and are under the age of 16, and interested, then this activity is for you! Simply sign up with you details below and a member of our activities team will get in touch with more information! while this trip is for under 16's we have a cut off age of 12 years old, and require that every young person be independent enough to get ready by themselves in the morning and evenings. If your child/young person takes medication and need assistance, a meeting with the trip staff and yourself will be arranged to fill out a medication form to discuss!
The trip will be staffed and lead by staff from the RSBC's Activity Planning Team, who will be working closely with the instructors at Plas Y Brenin site for the entirety of the trip. We will have RSBC volunteers accompanying to assist in sighted guiding and any other areas of support for the group. All members of staff and volunteers have been given advanced sighted guide training, as well as DBS checked.
Where will we be staying?
The group will be staying on-site at Plas Y Brenin adventure centre in our own private lodge/lodges. The group will also have access the a general common area as well as social spaces on the site in between activities. Due to the limited number of rooms, groups will be staying in same-gender dorms of 4 to 5.
What will we need to bring?
Upon being confirmed for your space, you will be send over a kit list of all the specific items to bring. As this is a residential trip for 4 days and 3 nights, with a lot of adventure activities such as climbing and hiking, there will need to be adequate and appropriate change of clothes for the duration of the trip.
When will i know i've been confirmed a space?
Once you have signed up by filling out the relevant fields below, a member of the RSBC's activities Planning team will be in touch to get some more details, and confirm your commitment to the trip, and then your spot and place on the trip will be confirmed!
