The Future of Work in Climate: Designing Your Own Fractional & Freelance Career (DC Climate Week)
The climate and social impact job market is changing fast, we're all seeing it. Full-time roles are more competitive, timelines are longer, and the traditional path can feel increasingly rigid or misaligned. At the same time, there’s a quieter shift happening: more professionals are stepping off the conventional track and creating careers that are flexible, values-aligned, and deeply their own.
This workshop is an invitation to do the same.
In this in-person, interactive session during DC Climate Week 2026, Climate Career Coach & Recruiter Radhika Bhatt will guide you through how to reclaim agency in your career and begin designing a path that aligns your skills, your values, your work-life balance, and your impact.
Together, we’ll explore:
How to identify the problems you feel most called to solve
How to shape your skills into offerings that feel authentic and sustainable
How to identify target organizations and entry points into the hidden job market
How to build visibility and trust in a way that feels aligned (and not extractive)
Through a guided, hands-on workshop, you’ll begin mapping out your own fractional career blueprint: defining your niche, your offerings, and your first aligned steps forward. You’ll leave with the foundation of a business plan, along with a clearer sense of direction, grounded confidence, and practical next steps to begin building a career that is both impactful and sustainable for the live you want to lead.
If you have recently experienced a layoff, are considering a career pivot, want to build a portfolio career, or are interested in adjusting your relationship to work, this workshop is for you. This experience is for those who are ready to move beyond default paths, and step into a more intentional, self-directed, and aligned way of working in climate and social impact.
Held at the serene Art of Living Foundation in Washington, D.C., this workshop weaves together tactical strategy with a more holistic, regenerative approach to career design. We hope to see you there.
