UPDATE: 30 minute shift to start time

All - the UKC Senior Center needs a little bit more time to turn the room over for us after a morning activity, so we will be congregating at 10am (instead of 9:30) at the patio on the East side of the building, and then moving in for the session by no later than 10:30am. The end time is now 4:30pm - apologies if this causes any inconvenience - hopefully the extra ZZZs will benefit everyone!

About the Training

This training is part of the USDA Forest Service funded project: "Building a Biochar Market for Forest and Climate Resilience". More information about the grant opportunity is available here.

The Biochar production & application training has two parts:

  • First is this classroom session

  • Second is a hands-on field training in October, once the burn ban lifts.

For crew leads, this classroom session is a prerequisite for the hands-on field training.

Who should attend

This classroom training has been designed for crews and crew leads interested in providing biochar production and application services to Small Forest Landowners as part of the grant project.

Registration requests will be screened; space is limited.

Please note that this training is NOT intended for landowners.
