What if a bike ride could help us understand our ocean?
The Ocean Data Literacy Ride combines cycling, data advocacy, environmental action and community engagement for a morning experience along the Mombasa coast.
We will ride from Sote Hub through Mkomani, Mamba Village and Beach Road to Nyali Beach, with short stops for conversations around ocean data, coastal infrastructure, environmental challenges and community resilience.
At Nyali Beach, we will turn knowledge into action through a beach clean-up and marine debris data collection exercise.
Whether you're a cyclist, student, data enthusiast, environmental champion, tech innovator or simply someone who cares about our Coast, come pedal with purpose.

Working in teams, participants will:

🗑️ Segregate collected waste where practical
🌊 Discuss coastal pollution
🤝 Participate in a community clean-up challenge
📸 Capture the story of our Coast
Gloves and collection bags will be provided.
The goal is not just to remove waste, but to understand what we find and use data to tell the story of our coastline.

You don't need to be an experienced cyclist or data scientist.
Come ready to ride, learn, connect and contribute.
