Irreplaceable in the Age of AI: An EPOCH Forum Presented by HUM
Join the Human Understanding Movement (HUM) for a public deliberative forum about the human capabilities we need to practice in an AI-shaped world.
Technology is changing how we work, create, communicate, and make decisions. AI can spit out answers quickly and imitate a great deal on command.
But it cannot care for others, take responsibility for its actions, or act from a sense of purpose.
Those traits remain uniquely human.
Irreplaceable in the Age of AI is a guided, in-person conversation about the human capabilities we need to keep bringing to the table: empathy, presence, opinion, creativity, and hope.
This is not a lecture, panel, or presentation. No one is there to perform expertise for an audience, and everyone gets to participate.
At mixed tables, participants will use facilitated prompts informed by MIT Sloan’s EPOCH framework to talk honestly about what these capabilities look like in real life: When do we need them? Can AI mimic them? Do we need to keep practicing them as AI takes on more of our work?
There are no right answers waiting at the end of the night. There are better questions, sharper thinking, and the chance to hear how other people are meeting the same changes.
Who it’s for
For people who work, make things, lead, teach, care for others, build communities, or simply want to think clearly about the world taking shape around us.
You do not need to be an AI expert. You do not need to agree with everyone in the room. Bring your experience, your questions, and your point of view.
