

5th Annual Salt River Float
Salt River Float Plan – May 28, 2026
RSVP no later than May 14th
The float takes place on the Salt River, northeast of Mesa in Tonto National Forest.
We will use Salt River Tubing (saltrivertubing.com) for transportation if needed. They offer tube rentals and shuttle service to multiple checkpoints. No parking pass is required at their lot.
Game Plan
Meet at Checkpoint #1
Start floating at 10:00 AM
If using Salt River Tubing transportation:
Arrive before 9:00 AM
Take their shuttle to Checkpoint #1
Float + Lunch Schedule
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Float from Checkpoint #1 to #2
Estimated time: 1.5 to 2 hours
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Lunch at Pebble Beach Recreation Area
We’ll grab shaded picnic tables right by the river
Food is covered; we’re bringing plenty for everyone
Not floating? This is the perfect spot to meet up
Parking note: $8 Tonto Daily Pass (pay at the lot)
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Float from Checkpoint #2 to #4
Estimated time: 2 to 2.5 hours
3:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Depart
Shuttle available from Checkpoint #4 back to Salt River Tubing lot
Arrival + Equipment Notes
If renting or using shuttle service, arrive before 9:00 AM
You can bring your own tube- Tube from Amazon or Big 5 [amazon.com]
Recommended over rentals, their tubes get very hot in the sun
Sunscreen, water, and a dry bag will make your life easier

12:00 – 1:00 PM: Lunch
1:00 – 3:30 PM: Float (Checkpoint #2 → #4)
