Abstract:

​Visara is a web-based AI platform that analyzes mammograms using advanced computer vision to predict BI-RADS categories and tumor aggressiveness, and to automatically generate structured radiology reports using fine-tuned language models. Radiologists remain fully in the loop, with the ability to review, validate, and edit AI-generated outputs, supporting clinical trust, workflow integration, and adoption. By standardizing analysis and reporting, Visara aims to improve diagnostic consistency for clinicians. In parallel, the platform is designed to empower patients by providing access to clear, structured results and AI-assisted second-opinion capabilities, enabling more informed discussions and shared decision-making in their care.

​Mirko Birbaumer is a physicist and data science expert educated at ETH Zurich, with a PhD in computer-assisted image analysis and pattern recognition, extensive experience in academic teaching and program leadership, and advanced executive training in innovation, strategy, and leadership from MIT.
