The ESL Club: Creating (in) An Unfamiliar Language 用陌生的语言创作 / 创造一种陌生的语言

Have you had a dream in a foreign language—or in one that doesn’t even exist? 💭 你是否曾经在梦里说过陌生的语言，或是一种根本不存在的语言？

We'll start with warm up activity led by Du Yibing 杜一冰 to stir the waters, then drift into an open studio where you’ll choose from a menu of playful projects to create your own words/languages. 🎨✍️

It’s about exploring the texture, boundaries, and expressive potential of language. 🌱

• ​📖 A Collaged Dictionary 拼贴字典
  Collage a character or a word—give it a texture, a sound, a climate, a contour.
  拼贴一个字符或词语，并赋予它质感、声音、气候和线条。

• ​🌀 An Un-Grammar 不存在的语法
  Write with invented words or grammar that doesn’t (yet) exist.
  用只属于你的词汇和语法来写作。

• ​🌱 An Imagined Language 想象的语言
  Define a hybrid tongue, a dead language, future dialect.
  定义一种混杂的语言、已消亡的语言，或未来的语言。

​We’ll also close with a 🌕 reading circle 朗读分享, where each voice adds to a chorus of unfamiliar languages. 🎤
