About Event

Kuala Lumpur’s most creative and unhinged hackathon with over USD 900 in prizes up for grabs.

The Qwen Brainrot Hackathon is a one day sprint where you build the dumbest, most brainrot, most “why does this even exist” product you can imagine powered by Qwen.

Forget commercial viability. Forget social impact. The only rule: make something gloriously useless.

Who it’s for: Developers, designers, students, and chronically online creatives across KL/PJ. All skill levels welcome.

How teams work

  • Build solo or in a team (max 3 person per team).

  • Every participant must register individually even if you’re on a team.

  • When you register, enter your Team Name in the team name field. Everyone on the same team must use the exact same team name so we can group you correctly.

How the event runs

1. Registration — until 13 July 2026
Sign up here on Luma and keep an eye on Luma for updates and announcements.

2. Physical Final Round — 25 July 2026
Shortlisted teams present their prototypes live in Kuala Lumpur. Judges and the crowd crown the Brainrot Champion, Most Creative Qwen Integration and Best Presentation.

Community guidelines

  • Be kind and respectful. Treat fellow builders, judges, and organisers with respect regardless of skill level or background. Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind won’t be tolerated.

  • Dumb, not harmful. Absurd and useless is the goal. Projects that are generally considered offensive, political, hateful, NSFW are off-limits.

  • Build it yourself. Your project should be your own work, created during the hackathon and genuinely powered by Qwen. No plagiarism or passing off others’ work as yours.

  • Play fair. Respect the timeline, submission rules, and judges’ decisions.
