FUJIKINA Ghent 2026 x Collectif L'escalade
Sunday 20 September 2026 | Houtdok, Ghent
The old harbour district — an abandoned factory of raw concrete and hidden potential, right on the water.
📸 We're packing up the camp and hitting the road. Thid year, the Collectif L'escalade ventures beyond Brussels, and this time we're heading to Ghent together for Fujikina, the biggest photo and video festival Fujifilm, our partner to all our exhibitions, throws in Belgium.
For its second edition, the festival takes over a disused factory at the Houtdok, a rough, cinematic gem of Ghent's old port, warehouses, water and industrial charm, all begging to be photographed. We couldn't think of a better place to point our lenses as a group.
Did you really think we'd let September arrive without one big adventure together?
That's right: this is L'escalade on tour. Same spirit, come as you are, no need to explain your camera settings, just with a full day of inspiration and a whole crew of fellow image-makers around you.
Here's what's waiting for us inside:
Live Talks — a line-up of remarkable photographers sharing their worlds: Nina Papiorek on finding order in the chaos of Chongqing, Cole Roberts on how the photo comes last, Brussels' own Tanguy Pels on his film-inspired philosophy, documentary photographer Nick Hannes on street photography, Noortje Palmers on her immense collective portraits, and Isabel Corthier on authenticity in the age of AI.
Photo Walks — guided wanders through and around the Houtdok with photographers like Jeffrey Van Daele, Cole Roberts, Robin De Nys, Kaan Senel and Loris Durenne. Beginner or seasoned, there's a walk to stretch your eye.
Workshops — hands-on sessions, from Noortje Palmers' gloriously absurd jelly still-life workshop, to Guillaume Kayacan's black & white and live-concert workshops, to Antoine Willemart's minimalist "one body, two lenses" approach.
Check & Clean — free sensor cleaning, inspection and firmware updates for your Fujifilm X-Series and GFX gear (arrive early, limited slots, one body + one lens per person).
Touch & Try — get your hands on the latest Fujifilm cameras and lenses, with free two-hour loans to really put them through their paces (bring valid ID).
It doesn't matter if you shoot film or digital, if you're a seasoned pro, a freelance, or someone who simply loves the craft. If you pick up a camera, there's a spot for you in the convoy.
Come for a few talks, a photo walk, or the whole day from doors to closing… 😊
