Superhouse Presents a Conversation with Colin Knight and Glenn Adamson
Join artist Colin Knight and design scholar and curator Glenn Adamson in conversation on the occasion of Knight’s solo exhibition at Superhouse, Hero’s Wreck, exploring memory, heroism, and vulnerability through craft and design.
Colin Knight’s solo exhibition at Superhouse, Hero’s Wreck, transforms sculptural furniture and leather reliefs into meditations on memory, heroism, and vulnerability. Drawing from World War II mythologies and personal narrative, Knight’s works navigate the tension between strength and fragility, craft and storytelling. His bas-relief panels and sculptural seating objects channel histories of war, survival, and masculinity, reframing them through a deeply tactile, material-driven practice.
In this conversation with scholar and curator Glenn Adamson, Knight will reflect on the ideas that animate his work—how design can hold trauma and heroism in the same breath, how craft traditions can be vessels for memory, and how allegory shapes the ways we interpret objects. Together they will explore Knight’s artistic vocabulary, his influences from Joseph Beuys to maritime survival, and the ways contemporary design engages with history to illuminate the present.
