Breaking Out: A Design Challenge on the Edge of Reality

​Something is closing.

​Our digital world is increasingly fragmented, mediated, and automated.
People see different things. Trust erodes. Institutions harden.
Decisions are optimized, but meaning is lost.

​Many of us feel it — even if we describe it differently.

​Breaking Out is a collective design challenge for people who sense that the current trajectory is narrowing our future — and want to explore what it would take to widen it again.

​This is not about ideology.
It’s not about platforms.
And it’s not about nostalgia for a simpler past.

​It’s about how humans coordinate when reality itself is fractured — and what kinds of structures could restore agency, trust, and collective navigation above the systems we’re currently trapped inside.

​During this event, participants will:

• ​Examine real-world breakdowns in shared understanding

• ​Explore emerging interface primitives for coordination

• ​Work individually or collaboratively on pre-solution design challenges

• ​Help map possible exits — not as answers, but as paths

You don’t need to agree with anyone else.
You just need to sense that staying inside the silo is no longer an option.
