Co-opreneurism: Co-ops As A Means Of Community Wealth Building

​-For business owners seeking to exit, cooperatives offer an opportunity to maintain the exiting owner's legacy while also ensuring that jobs are saved and access to goods and services remain in the community being served. For unmet needs, cooperatives offer a way for the community to meet those needs, keeping the wealth in the community.

​-Owners considering succession planning will gain an understanding of how selling to the employees, consumers, or both can create a safe exit strategy for them while honoring and keeping the community being served whole. Aspiring entrepreneurs will gain an appreciation of how the cooperative model can enable new businesses to launch through the motto of "many hands make light work".
