Product Management and Football. Football and Product Management.
Have you ever thought about the connection between these two worlds?
In honor of World Cup month, we’re bringing together two shared passions of many product managers: strong product thinking and football ⚽
On June 21, we’ll meet at Melio’s offices for a special evening featuring talks on product management, football, real-time decision-making, pressure, data, strategy, and everything in between.
After the talks, we’ll watch the second half of the Spain vs. Saudi Arabia match together, alongside fellow product professionals who love football just as much as you do.
What’s on the agenda?
1.The (un)usual Suspects: Finding the Treasure Beyond Your ICP in your latent demand.
By Daniel Blum Senior PM @ Melio
What if your most valuable users are already right in front of you - just not where you expected? Expanding on the ProductX session, this talk explores how to find them: which friction to follow, how to spot latent demand in your data, and the surprising value your product may already be creating. Your next big opportunity might already be there, disguised as a problem. Let's find it.
2.Real Time, Real Conflicts: When AI Meets 90-Minute Pressure.
By Yaron Kivillis Senior PM @ Lsport
Imagine making a million-dollar decision with incomplete data, zero time, and millions of people watching. No pause button. No VAR. No second chance.
For a sports data company operating at scale, this isn't a hypothetical. It's every match, every minute. The diversity of your customer base forces a hard trade-off: accuracy or latency. How you resolve that tension isn't just a technical choice. It's a product strategy.
This is where AI steps in. In this talk, Yaron Kivilis (Senior PM, LSports) shares how to put AI to work for high-pressure decisions under constant uncertainty. The core insight: your system architecture is your actual business strategy. By designing around your worst-case scenario rather than your average case, you learn to master the chaos. A practical look at what to measure in real-time, and how to act when the black box blinks.
3.The 60th-minute substitution
By Enbar Ben Michael, Product Lead at Tenable.
Most product managers know how to build a roadmap. The truly good ones know when to stop falling in love with it.
This talk takes one of the simplest and sometimes most dramatic decisions in football: “the 60th-minute substitution”, and uses it as a practical framework for one of the hardest challenges in product management: identifying when it’s time to change direction, what kind of change is needed, and when not to touch what is already working. We’ll discuss three types of substitutions that every PM knows, even if they don’t always know how to define them, and leave with a concrete framework for identifying the 60th minute in a product.
4.Screening of the second half of Spain vs. Saudi Arabia
A celebration of product and football not only for football fans.
We look forward to seeing you there.
