Intro to Augmented Reality
Curious about XR but not sure where to start?
Join us inside the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico for a hands-on creator day where the gardens and halls become our live canvas for building immersive experiences.
In the morning, you’ll learn how to place AR content on a real-world 3D scan using the MeshMap SDK, your first location-based AR scene. We’ll transform phone-captured scans into AR 3D objects you can bring into Unity. You’ll leave with an experience that anchors to the Museo de Arte space and a clear path to keep building.
No prior XR experience needed. Bring your phone with Polycam installed and your curiosity.
What You’ll Learn
Intro to Augmented Reality
Import and explore a scanned map of the Museo de Puerto Rico gardens and halls.
Place and align static 3D content at specific geographic points
Preview your scene via our headset.
3D Art for AR
Bring your own 3D asset or scan (captured with your phone)
Import your enhanced asset into Unity and add simple motion/light effects
Who It’s For
Designers & artists exploring spatial media
Developers curious about location-based AR
Students & educators in design, games, or digital arts
Anyone new to XR who wants to build something real fast
